Start by unplugging the device. While the humidifier is plugged in, never attempt to clean any component of it.
Using a gentle cloth, clean the exterior.
With a toothbrush, scrub away any limescale or "white powder."
If you can't get rid of mineral deposits using water or water and dish soap, soak a cloth in white vinegar and wrap it around the problematic regions.
