Start-up Problem
My HP ProBook 6560b laptop was in hibernation overnight and tried re-staring it the next day. No response ever since!. Prior to the problem, it was configured not to switch to hibernation or sleep for 12 hrs - due to a back-up of large file running over the night. Problem started when collegue closed the lid (not knowing the back-up as in progress and was set to run throughout the night) while locking the office for the evening and went home. I came to work the next day and alas! my laptop refused to start. How can I re-start my BroBook 6560b? Some troubleshooting steps tried already. removed battery and left it for 24 hrs, tried to re-start using AC Power - no success. re-insert battery - press power button for 30 secs - no response tried with key combinations 1. Ctrl+Alt, Del 2. power, Esc, F10 Anybody out there with some solutions?

Hi. By refusing to start you mean boot/load Windows? If yes, then the OS will have probably gone corrupt (a system crash). You could try to repeatedly tap F8 just before Windows attempt to load to access the Advanced option Menu from which you could try accessing Windows via Safe mode and see if you cannot correct things. You also have the option of taking the hard drive out of the computer into an external hard drive enclosure, back-up your data to another computer and load a fresh copy of Windows to the laptop. If on the other hand you mean the laptop will not power on, then ether the adapter went bad, power sup failed or there are issues on the PCB.
