Hp Storageworks Sb40c

Hi, I am facing abit of trouble with HP StorageWorks SB40c. Currently this storage drive has a partner server but i need to expand the storage capacity. There are 2 x 146GB SAS Drives installed and i have 2 x 300GB SAS Drives. But when i plug them in, the lights on the 300GB SAS Drives do not turn on.
