2:nd Bay Hd

The secondary HDD starts spinning, but is not found by Windows Explorer. Any solution? Best regards Erling Hammer, Norway

When you start up have you checked in the bios to see if it is seen ? or, in the computer window (that shows your current partition/etended, partition, dvd writer etc:

IHave uou looked in computer management (start, right click coputer, click manage, click disk management- if it shows in disk management, right click the second hard drive, and click properties- see if it is set as logical/extended, raw. or, activated.

If it does not show there, then shut down, remove power cord, and battery, and then remove back panel, and check that the hard drive has not come adrift from the connector(happens rarely if th laptop gets knocked, or, dropped. Sometimes just removing and replacing will solve the issue.

If you still cannot see it , then it may have failed.

Check it by connecting in a caddy to a usb port, if it shows up and you can access it run CHK DSK /R (START/RUN/ TYPE IN CHKDSK /R, AND CLICK O.K .
