Automatic Shutdown
my notebook keeps getting shutdown automatically after running for about an hour . once this happens , i then have to wait for a few hours to reboot the system. the problem arises mainly while playing videos.

When playing videos or high graphic games or doing heavy processing, the CPU , Graphics card and other chips on the notebook gets heated. There is an internal cooling fan which cools the chips and the exhausts the hot air through the heat vent that are at the sides of the notebook.
There is also a temperature sensor that is used to monitor the temperatures of different chips. If for some reason the cooling fan is not able to cool the chips as fast as they get heated, the temperature of chips rise and reach a threshold temperature.This is when the notebook suddenly shuts down.
The system do not reboot until the temperature of the chips comes to normal room temperature.
You can try to use an external cooling fan to reduce this problem considerably.
