My Hp Deskjet 2050 On Light Comes On & Blinks Then Noise Then Goes Dark & Silent

we checked power cord we think that is the problem went to Staples to buy new cord we were told i had to get in touch with you I use my printer often and not happy with the cord not working and Staples not being able to help with new cord I haven't had my printer very long and am upset the cord would only last a few months I have always used H P products in my printer
