Trying To Print Without Having To Used All Color Ink Cartridge

can I just print letter just using the black ink only if so, how do i by pass the selection to print?

Not aware of any way to disable the ink cartridges. You can only specify to print in black and white, but you need the colour cartridges to be OK before it will accept a print command. I have attached a link to HP which may help.
