Hp 8000 Elite Beeps 4 Times On Startup.
This only occurs when the PC's power button is held in for 5 seconds and forced to shut down. The Beeps are 4 & high pitched, stop for 2 seconds and sound out another 4 beeps until the power button is pressed again and the PC starts up normally. replaced memory DDR3, 2 gig stick with another, intrusion alarm disabled. Kept clean and in near new condition. Doesnt occur if you start - shutdown, restart when in Wiindows but only when forced to shutdown.

4 beeps denote a power supply overload. 2 beeps denote a processor thermal shutdown. They are not normally seen together. See the service reference guide for details:

The beeps codes are accompanied by error codes. The codes are listed in the guide.
If you're forcing Windows to shutdown I would suggest a corrupted copy of Windows rather than a hardware issue. Try a reinstall.
