What Is The Purpose Of This Rule?

"Sorry, your account has been temporarily blocked again from submitting more manuals due to the high percentage of invalid submissions. The vast majority of your submissions are from a third-party web site, other than the manufacturer, which is not permitted. Manuals must come directly from the manufacturer" I am legitimately confused as to why it matters where the manual came from. A manual is a manual is a manual, is it not?

I asked HelpOwl the same question. Their response was that manuals gathered from third-party sites (not the manufacturer) could not be reliably trusted. They said they had gotten several altered and/or incomplete manuals from third-party sites, and even a few with viruses attached.

This rule is in effect to stop people from cheating. It's just like with school work, you couldn't just copy and paste from online and say "there, I'm done." If someone wanted a manual from another website, they would go to said website and read it there, rather than asking for it here. They consider this cheating to get points. Consider this, if you ran a website, where you gave free gift cards and prizes to people just for answering questions, would you want everyone just copying and pasting from other sites and racking up thousands of points that they didn't really earn? If You want the credit, then You have to do the work.
