It will remain unrated until someone reads the answer and rate it. For me, my goal is not being rated by the asker but by providing the best answer that I could. This can be rated by viewers in the future if they found the answer helpful.

In fact, Helpful and Unhelpful rates can be done by anyone who reads our answers. So, we should just be patient because Helpful rates will come along as we provide our best answers to the questions.

100 points is awarded for providing an answer no matter how correct the answer may be. If its not selected as an accepted or helpful/not helpful answer, thats the end of it. 100 points no increase or decrease.
