The Face Bar On My Harley Davidson Full Face Helmet Is Stuck In The Up Position.

I raised the face bar on my Harley full face helmet. It locked in the up position and now it will not unlock so I can return to the full face mode. The release mechanism on the face bar will not unlock it. How do I return the bar to the full face position?
