The door seal on the Hamilton Beach 31197R refrigerator should be snug, but not too tight. If the seal is too tight, it can make it difficult to open the door. If the seal is too loose, it can allow air and moisture to escape, which can lead to freezer burn.

The door seal should be especially snug at the top right corner, as this is the area where the door is most likely to leak. To check the seal, close the door and run your finger around the edge. If you feel any gaps, the seal may need to be adjusted.

To adjust the seal, you will need to remove the screws that hold the door in place. Once the screws are removed, you can gently pry the door open slightly. Then, you can use a screwdriver to adjust the position of the seal. Once the seal is adjusted, you can replace the screws and close the door.

If you are unable to adjust the seal yourself, you may need to contact a qualified technician.

Here are some additional tips to help keep your Hamilton Beach 31197R refrigerator door seal in good condition:

Clean the seal regularly. Use a mild soap and water solution to clean the seal. Be sure to dry the seal thoroughly after cleaning.

Inspect the seal regularly. Check the seal for any tears or cracks. If you find any damage, you will need to replace the seal.

Do not overload the refrigerator. Overloading the refrigerator can put stress on the door seal, which can lead to leaks.

Keep the refrigerator in a cool, dry place. Extreme temperatures can damage the door seal.

By following these tips, you can help ensure that the door seal on your Hamilton Beach 31197R refrigerator stays in good condition for years to come.
