Why Does The Blue Light Not Go Off When The Iron Is Turned To 'off?'
I have just purchased a 14506 Hamilton Beach steam iron. I would like to leave the iron plugged in almost all the time and merely turn the switch on and off to use the iron when needed. Does the blue light always stay on when the iron is plugged in to the electrical outlet? I would prefer having the light go off to verify that the iron has been turned off. However, unplugging the iron each time I turn it off involves a difficulty I do not wish to encounter. I hope I have missed something I can do that will enable the light to go off. If not, I'll need to return the iron and purchase something else.

The light is a power on light, and it will remain on while unit is plugged into a power outlet. ALWAYS UNPLUG THE IRON AFTER USE. I think it is probably a standby light, like on a TV.
If it's inconvient to unplug then you are correct, you should just return it!
