My Machine Is Locked And I Cannot Find My Manuel

i am staying in a friends home in Tahiti for a few weeks, she told more how  to use her Haier HW-A 1270 prior to departure, I used it once and it was great, but I was washing fine materials and changed the spin, now the doorwill not close and there is err 1 up on screen, I think it may be locked, as the lock has moved to the left and it looks closed.  I need the details for the icons on the front to work it again, the machine is almost new and I do not wish to harm it. I removed the plug from the wall for 20 mins, I can now close the door and start but the soap has not vanished and there does not appear to be water coming in, the drum is turning. Pleeeeeeese help with any instructions that could help me, I do not speak French so cannot tell the shopkeeper what is wrong. sincerely Jane.
