Abnormal Clicking Noises...

We've always noticed a small low click at regular intervals with this freezer. But recently, that click has become two clicks with the second one being much louder. The foods inside are still frozen and there is a thin sheet of ice lining the entire inside of the freezer itself. I am worried that we're losing our compressor or that something may be over heating when the compressor is cycling. Can you shed some light on this issue.
