Washing Machine Draining

why won't my washing machine drain on its own? I have to put the drain hose down on the ground to get it to drain it won't drain if I have it up in the sink why is it happening?

Drain Pump

If the drain pump has obstructions, then it won't be able drain, one feature is that it will be noisy. Clogged hose can be another problem. Also check Lid Switch Assembly
