Do You Apply Taxes To Groupon Purchases?

What you buy from Groupon is a voucher to be applied against the stipulated purchase. Any taxes applicable to that purchase will be payable at the time of the (later) purchase. Your voucher cannot be applied against taxes due (although I've found that some merchants will apply the voucher to taxes as well).
