If your Pontiac Montana 2004 alarm system is not working, there are a few things you can check to try to fix the problem.

Check the battery. The alarm system is powered by a battery, so if the battery is dead, the alarm will not work. You can check the battery by opening the hood and looking for the battery that is labeled "alarm." If the battery is dead, you will need to replace it.

Check the fuses. There are a few fuses that protect the alarm system, so if one of these fuses is blown, the alarm will not work. You can check the fuses by opening the fuse box and looking for the fuses that are labeled "alarm." If one of the fuses is blown, you will need to replace it.

Check the wiring. There may be a problem with the wiring that connects the alarm system to the car. You can check the wiring by looking for any loose or damaged wires. If you find any loose or damaged wires, you will need to repair or replace them.

Reset the alarm system. If you have checked the battery, fuses, and wiring and the alarm system is still not working, you can try resetting the alarm system. To reset the alarm system, you will need to follow the instructions in the owner's manual.

If you have checked all of these things and the alarm system is still not working, you may need to take the car to a mechanic to have the alarm system diagnosed and repaired.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

If you are not comfortable checking the battery, fuses, or wiring, you should take the car to a mechanic.

If you reset the alarm system and it still does not work, you may need to reprogram the alarm system.

If you take the car to a mechanic, they will be able to diagnose the problem and repair or replace the necessary parts.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
