Why Does Google Show Results That Do Not Contain All Of My Search Terms?
For instance, I search "simplesem "do while" loop". The first thing that comes up is the wikipedia article for do while loops. I do ctrl-F on the page for the word "simplesem", but it is nowhere to be found. How can I configure my searches so that it doesn't display useless pages?

For the results you want you'll need to use the allintext or intext operator, as explained here. The same section of that page suggests other useful operators you might want to use.

It is by design. Google company has no intention of filtering correctly, notwithstanding its documentation that describes (falsely) the behavior of its AND filtering.
Same story for searching with Bing and with Yahoo.

The first answer given in this thread is incorrect.
allintext has no effect on the bad AND filtering. It only narrows the scope of what is searched.
