2012 Acadia Rear Gate
My 2012 Acadia Denali's rear gate will not stay up and slams shut violently upon raising up. There is no manual way to raise it up and it fell very hard on my shoulder unexpectedly. I contacted the dealer, who told me that there was a recall on that particular year, but there was no way to fix it right now. This is a very dangerous problem and I need my tailgate to lift, as I use it all the time for groceries, etc. Please contact me at

Hi. This is only HelpOwl, a third party Q&A. The struts tend to fail requiring replacement. You can contact GM directly from here http://www.gm.com/toolbar/contactUs.html
