Does No Water Line Set Up Damage Our Ge Refrigerator (model Pye22p)?
We are renovating our kitchen and have our new GE refrigerator (model PYE22P) plugged in in our temporary kitchen with no water line attached yet. This model doesn't have an on/off control for the ice maker. Will we damage the refrigerator if we use it without the water line? (We don't need to use the ice maker until the kitchen is done.)The instructions say "make sure the ice maker is in the ON position ONLY AFTER the water line is connected and the water is turned on."

You should follow the instructions and make sure the ice maker is Off if the water line is not connected. The ice maker's On/Off control is as pictured at this manual page. If you can't find or can't operate it, call GE--see the contact information here: https://www.contacthelp.com/General%20Electric/customer-service. If it's really missing, your fridge is defective and should be replaced or repaired.
