Can The Drain Hose On The Ge Ape0akm1 Be Put Out A Window?

The water bucket on the air conditioner fills up every couple of hours and I don't have a floor drain. I would like to try putting the drain hose out the window as it is tedious to be dumping the water bucket so many times a day. My concern is that the hose has to be going in a downward direction in order for gravity to dispose of the water. If the hose is placed out a window and no longer in a downward position, would the water be able to drain properly from the unit?
