Our Garmin Has Garmin On The Screen And Will Do Nothing Else, What's Wrong.

We purchased a Garmin 40 LM in the early summer, worked fine until the other day when we got in the car. It only has GARMIN on the screen, will do nothing else. Not turn on or show any other screen. What's wrong and what do we do??
