Towing Capacity

i have 2008 Gmc sierra crew cab 1500 2wd with the 5.3L 3.42 rear end also have the z85 towing package but dont have hd cooling but plan on putting it in soon my question is my manuel says my trk is only capable of 6600 but talk to the service guy at dealer ship show me a chart says my truck can do 9600
