If the voltage drops too much, below 10 volts, your battery doesn't have enough charge to start the engine. This can happen due to internal degradation of the battery, if the vehicle has been sitting for a long time, or if the alternator in your Yukon has malfunctioned and not charging the battery properly. One of the most common reasons the battery light comes on and the car battery stop charging is because of corrosion. Whether the corrosion is on the battery cables or cable terminals. It is still a problem that need to be addressed. Another common reason that cause the car battery not to charge is problem with the Alternator, the Alternator maintain the charging system.

I hope this is helpful? PLEASE "ACCEPT" and mark it "HELPFUL" to complement my little effort. Hope to bring you more detailed answers.
