1999 Gmc Sierra 1500 Starting Problem.
When the engine is cold, the starter works great, but when the engine is hot the starter wont run. Why?

The starter's solenoid is acting up when it gets hot. The best way to fix this is to wrap the starter (and the solenoid on top of it) with a heat shield thermal blanket. They sell them at most auto parts stores. The blanket deflects most of the exhaust heat off of the starter and solenoid, so it will work correctly when the vehicle is hot.
If that doesn't help enough, try to wrap the exhaust pipes with header pipe wrap. It looks like white cloth tape, but it works fairly well to keep heat off of the starter.
