After New Ignition, Distributor, Ecu.. Truck Wont Time And Runs Really Roughly.
have a 1997 GMC Sonoma that I bought while it was not running. The guy I bought it from said it ran great until the ignition went. When the ignition failed, it apparently killed the ecu, distributor etc... The guy replaced the parts but installed them wrongly. My mechanic got it to fire by installing the distributor properly. It runs really roughly, sounds like a timing problem. He hasn't been able to get it to time properly and is now wanting to pull valve covers and other things and its getting expensive... Is there anything else that might be causing this problem?
