1994 Gmc Suburban Sle: Heater Does Not Blow Hot.

heater does not blow hot. if i cycle to A/C that worksfine but when i trie to raise the heat all i get is the ambient air temperature in both front and rear system control. could it be my thermostat? there seems to be a bit of coolant leakage at the upper hose inlet on the engine. and when the motor is warmed up the upper hose seems to be under quite a bit of pressure.
