Hello KATHYNETTERVILLE – I suggest contacting the manufacturer directly or refer back to the manual regarding the warranty on your unit. Generally speaking, the manufacturer’s warranty is for one year from the original date of purchase. Regarding the issue, it honestly depends on the size of the plastic to determine what it could possibly be. However, most of the time it is small shreds of plastic from the ice bin, in which it can be replace (Part number: 241860810, MSRP: $115.04). You can purchase the ice container assembly with moving/parts directly from the manufacturer or through a part distributor in your area (part number may be different).
