Fuel Pump:

i have a 07 crown Vic Police Edition. Once my fuel pump gets hot it shuts down on my. I can go and crank it a couple day later and it cranks right up. Something was wrong with the wires so my fuel pump was wired and of course it was a used fuel pump, and I don't think they put a new fuel filter on it. What should I do?
