What Does It Mean When The Wrench Light Is On

Hi. If the wrench light comes on, Then you have a code stored in the PCM (Powertrain control Module). Without knowing the code, it is very difficult to pinpoint any component failure. If I had to guess, I would say the Mass air flow sensor could be at fault. If you have a scanner, I would suggest reading off the codes and listing them here and I can better assist. If you don't, then I would suggest stopping by an Oreilly's Advance, or Auto Zone, and they will scan your system free of charge. Make a list of the codes, in the order they appear. And I can better assist if I know what is setting the wrench light off.

The service manual just says this for the wrench light:

Throttle Control/Powertrain malfunction (RTT): Illuminates when a powertrain fault has been detected. If the indicator stays on or continues to come on, contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible.
