What Could Be Making My Am/fm Cd Radio In My Ford Taurus Go On And Off

my radion in my 2005 ford taurus goes on and off. i have checked the fuses and none of them are blown.

Two possibilities are: a wiring short circuit or a component failure in the radio itself.
