About the trouble you're experiencing with your 2005 Ford Five Hundred. It sounds like you're dealing with a potential issue related to the throttle body. The throttle body plays a vital role in regulating the amount of air that enters the engine, which affects its performance. If there is a problem with the throttle body, it can lead to stalling or loss of power while driving. While I understand you'd like to perform the repair yourself, it's important to note that dealing with the throttle body may require some specialized tools and knowledge. However, before considering any repair, there are a few initial troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check the throttle body for dirt or carbon buildup. A dirty throttle body can disrupt the airflow, affecting the engine's performance. Clean it using a throttle body cleaner and a soft, lint-free cloth.

2. Inspect the wiring harness connected to the throttle body for any visible signs of damage, such as frayed wires or loose connections. Ensure that all connections are secure.

3. Reset the car's computer by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, then reconnecting it. This can help clear any temporary electronic glitches.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, I recommend contacting a professional mechanic or a Ford dealership to diagnose and repair the problem. They will have the necessary equipment and expertise to properly diagnose the throttle body issue and provide a reliable repair solution. Remember, prioritizing your safety is essential, so it's generally best to have a qualified technician handle complex repairs. They can ensure that the repair is done correctly, minimizing the risk of further damage or safety hazards.

I hope this is helpful? PLEASE "ACCEPT" and mark it "HELPFUL" to complement my little effort. Hope to bring you more detailed answers.

The problem might be with a defective crankshaft position sensor. If the computer loses the signal from this sensor, the computer see's no reason to operate the ignition and fuel systems so the engine shuts off.

Please response if this answer is acceptable and solw your problem thanks
