An old school test was to disconnect the negative lead from the battery when the engine was running. If the car died the issue was the alternator, if it kept running it was the battery.

In modern vehicles this no longer holds true. Many newer electrical systems require the battery in-line as a voltage reference and won't function without it. In fact disconnecting the negative lead while the engine is running can cause serious damage to the electronics on some vehicles. Fuses can blow and electronics can be damaged. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Load_dump

It used to be that the battery was only used to start the car and keep the electronics alive when the vehicle is off. The car would run fine on the alternator alone. Today it varies and the system should be checked with all components connected. A load meter is connected and can determine if things are working properly. You can go to any auto parts store to have this done for free while you wait.

I recommend you try that before doing anything else.

Good luck...
