Engine Won't Start

After visiting a friend my truck won't start, I changed out the alternator and had battery charged and tested.  Engine still won't start??  Could it be the starter?

If the starter cranks, that isn't the problem. It may be the vehicle anti-theft system (VATS) acting up. Wipe off your key with a cloth and see if it will start. There is a resistor in the key that gets dirty or wears out. If that doesn't work, try a spare key or have another key made. I'm betting that the key is the problem here.

Another annoying problem with Fords is the inertia switch. Did you hit a bump or a pothole on the way to your friend's house? The fuel shutoff switch may have tripped. It's just a red button that you push to reset it. It's usually in the trunk of the car, but I'm not sure where it is located in a truck. Maybe the glove box or the passenger side kick panel.
