How To Install A Starter

I have a 1998 ford explorer sport with a manual transmission engine is a 4.0 V6 SOHC I removed the starter because the ears broke off. I need to put a new starter in, problem is there is no room since it is a manual transmission. I was wondering if anyone can help me. I just need to know what I have to take apart(if anything) to get this starter in. or where to go to find a repair manual for this type of vehicle my local auto parts store doesn't carry the manual i need.
