98 Ford Escort Zx2 Fuel Gauge Crazy

98 ford escort zx2 turn heater on instrument cluster goes crazy. ie tach becomes inop, low fuel light comews on, fuel gauge freezes at half. What are some things to check. New computer, new instrument cluster, new battrery cable ends, fully charged battery, charging system ok
