Heat Indicator On Dash

on my 1996 3.8l mustang i have a heat light with emblem that comes on in the inst panel. it does it during heavy acceleration only. at idle or cruise speed it doesnt light up. the owners manual doesnt even show that light on the dash. the water temp and oil press gauges show fine and my radiator is always on the level without adding water. any suggestions as to what that warning is?
