Video 'legal'?

I created a slideshow using an app and purchased a song from iTunes to play during the slideshow. When I tried posting it to fb, it stated it couldn't be posted because of use of the song and I needed to fill out an appeal stating I had the proper rights to post the slideshow. As soon as I filled out the form, the slideshow was posted on my timeline. This is ok, right? I don't want to get in trouble....

By using someone else's music you are infringing on their Copyright. It doesn't matter whether you give credit to the artist, or even buy their songs. The ownership of the work belongs to the artist. By uploading a video which contains a copyrighted piece of music, you are essentially reproducing and broadcasting/sharing it without the artists permission.
