Someone Is Using My Email Address On Fb.how Do I Delete Their Info& Keep My Emai

My email is being used by someone other than myself. I would like to maintain my email address but delete their info. I requested my account deleted and was assigned a new password. Whenever I sign in with my email and new password, the other person's account name appears and I can't sign in ("incorrect password for this account"). Please advise on how to get this corrected. Thank you.
