Unable To Add Friends Now?

I have been adding friends from high school since a reunion was pending for the week. I also added a few people for a cafe world game. I have NEVER spammed in my life. Yet I get blocked from adding people and I've waited days and I'm still blocked from adding people I would like to reconnect with from high school. I'm told by the feature that continuing to try to add people can get me permanently banned and to wait hours or days for the feature to become available yet there's nothing to let me know when it has become available so I wait a few days, try it again, and in doing so being told that in trying again while it's still blocked I can be permanently banned. Ok so if you're not going to tell me when I can add friends, and I wait a few days and try again, I can become permanently banned? Just for adding old high school friends and gaming friends? Again I have NEVER spammed anyone in my life. I am a former Marine and by golly I don't believe in messing people over with sending them crap but I would think I'd have the right to add what friends I'd like to add? If this is a problem please erase my account, and I'll gladly tell my friends we should just go to twitter or myspace. Thanks

Facebook has determined that you were adding Friends at a rate that it considers likely to be abusive. Facebook will typically lift the block within a few days. In the meantime there's unfortunately nothing you can do.

This problem is increasing at a very rapid rate and Facebook is completely non-responsive.
