How To Delete My Old Email Address & Use Only My New Address?

I already changed the email address on my account (followed directions on the Help center), but my old address still comes up. I don't want my old address on there at all. When retrying to enter my new email address, a note comes up saying that there's already that address in the system (yes...that's me!!), but it doesn't let me go any further. Please help me out.

In facebook you have to delete the original email address, after you add a new email, you can find both email addresses listed under account--account settings--email address, then you just have to set your new address as the default or primary and delete the old one. Hope this helps!
