Removed Mobile Number Now Can't Readd It

Hi I was given an answer to remove mobile number then register again but I can't because I can't add my number back to my account how do I fix this please help I am desperate

Click the gear wheel icon at the top right of any Facebook page to pull down the account menu, and then go to Account Settings.
