I Need Help Viewing My Messages On Facebook.

okay so I was on my laptop, logging into Facebook and I relised I had new messages. When I went to look at them, I could see who sent them but when I clicked on the message to rply back, the screen went white. Each time. I can't message online chat, even when my chat is turned on.
