Does Facebook Send Out Email Like This?

I received an email supposedly from Facebook, saying the following: Hi __, Sorry you've been having trouble logging into Facebook. Get back on Facebook now (clickable link) You can also get password help and login help on Facebook. (also clickable links) The Facebook Team Email address: [email protected] I never attempted to contact Facebook and I haven't had any problems logging in. It's impossible to contact anyone at Facebook. Well, if there IS a way, my endless searching revealed zero... zip! No way to report phishing or suspicious email. Any ideas out there? Thanks for any help with this.

One quick way to find out if it is or is not a legitimate email is obviously the sender, emails from facebook will always read @facebook.com, however this can be changed with a email spoofing program, so the next way to validate authenticity, is to run your mouse over the clickable link, once your mouse pointer is is over the link look at the bottom of your screen, it will show you where the link is directing you to. In the case of websites that require personal information, they will almost always use this prefix HTTPS:// followed of course by the legitimate domain name, in this case it would look something like this, https://www.facebook. com...and so on, if it reads https://www.facebook. com (no space after the dot) you automatically know, this is a verified and legitimate email. Hope this helps!

There is a good chance it is a phishing email. Never click a link inside your email. It is best just to go to the website itself.

Even if the link points back to facebook.com, it could be a tojac app within facebook.
