How Do You Delete Notifications On Facebook?

How do you delete accepted your friend request notifications on Facebook that shows up in the upper left hand corner?

The answer stating to click on the notifications tab (the one with globe logo) and then click on the "see all notifications" from there you can delete the notifications which you don't want. Also if you want to delete all the notifications at one time then click on the clear all notifications button, sounds great and easy, but what if you don't have the "X" to allow you to delete the notification (for example, friend requests accepted) and also I don't have the option to clear all notifications.
