Why ask "do you know this person personally" if you cannot answer "yes"? Why can't people try to renew old acquaintances and forge new friendships without Facebook interfering? FB violates their own mission statement and makes ordinary people feel like stalkers. It's anti-spam administrators throwing the baby out with the wash and Board of Directors indifferent to the very people who got them where they are. Sad. Let people set privacy settings if they do not want to be friend requested. Hope the new Google Me is not run by power-hungry, paranoid, control freaks. The original concept was pure genius. But they figure – 500 million users, how could anything be wrong?
