How Do I Get Out Of A Non-refundable Hotel Reservation

This is tricky because we don't have all the information on your booking.  Below is the Expedia policy of cancelling motel/hotel reservations:

To cancel a hotel reservation except an Expedia Unpublished Rate reservation*, go to My Itineraries and open the itinerary that contains the hotel you wish to cancel. Click Cancel this reservation and review the refund and fee details. If your account is being credited, you should see a credit on your billing statement within 30 days of requesting the credit or on your next billing cycle.

Please bear in mind that while Expedia does not charge fees for changes or cancellations, depending on the rate plan, some hotels may impose non-refundable rate plans or fees that Expedia is required to pass along. Such fees are highest when cancellations occur within 48 hours of your scheduled travel dates.

*Expedia Unpublished Rate reservations cannot be changed or cancelled

• The hotel name and exact location are shown only after you book.
• ALL BOOKINGS ARE FINAL and cannot be canceled, refunded, changed, exchanged, or transferred.
• All rooms are guaranteed to sleep the number of guests you provided during your search, but we cannot guarantee the number of beds.
• The hotel is mapped on an area map showing only the neighborhood where the hotel is located.
• The star ratings used for Expedia Unpublished Rate hotels is unique to these hotels. Click the "See star rating guide" link in your Unpublished Rate search results for more details.

Except for Expedia Unpublished Rate hotels, and subject to individual hotel policies, you can change your hotel reservation by cancelling and rebooking it on Expedia. Please be sure to check the hotel cancellation policies before you change or cancel a reservation. If you change or cancel a fully non-refundable hotel, you will lose the amount paid for the hotel. Please note that you cannot change or cancel an Expedia Unpublished Rate hotel.

It does not appear that yo will be able to cancel or change your motel reservation UNLESS the motel is willing to forego its guarenteed payment. You can call them and explain your dismay at reading the reviews and ask them to release you BUT GET THAT IN WRITING and then send that notification to you credit company immediately.
