Xp-300 Getting E01 Error On Startup After Changing Ink Cartriges
i inserted a new ink cartridge for Magenta that is an off brand that i have been using for a long time, it told me that the ink cartridge was not recognized and made me shut the printer off, then i tried to put the old ink cartridge in and it again told me that it was not recognized. i had to shut the printer off while it was in use to take the ink cartridge out because i could not get to the setup screen, after i pulled the ink cartridge it started up far enough to tell me that it is not recognized again and then started to repeat the error on startup behavior.

Hello again wyattwagenschutz,
When an E-01 error is displayed this usually indicates one of two reasons:
- A paper jam somewhere in the device
- A hardware Failure
Since the error occurred after you changed out the ink cartridge and NOT while printing, then the second reason is likely what occurred. The fact that you had just changed the magenta cartridge is likely a coincidence.
However, in order to know if this is correct, you can perform a Hard Reset which can resolve many printer errors relevant to your Epson Model.
