Damaged Luggage And Contents!

Firstly, I would like to apologise if I have added this into the wrong forum/thread I'm new to all of this just really need a little help and advice on the current situation I am in.So to cut a long story short I was flying with easy jet and on my return flight home they dropped my luggage and it was ran over by two luggage carriers. The case and ALL of the contents were destroyed!! I received a new case within 7 days and started the process of claiming all of the damaged items within my case! At the airport I was led to believe and told by 4 different members of staff that I would not have to contact my personal insurance provider because the company in question would pay out for everything that had been destroyed and there would be no question! I offered them at the airport to keep my entire case and the contents as evidence for them so they could assess the damage themselves. At this point two people told me it would not be necessary for me to leave my case as they had seen the damage and would sort the situation. So when returning home baring in mind the people at the airport had told me I could bin my items because they had seen the damage and wouldn't need anymore evidence from me. So I binned half of it at the airport in front of the staff then the rest when I got home! But now I've started my claim they want receipts of purchase and pictures so they have evidence of the damaged stuff! It's all been binned because the person at the airport said it would be ok to & I have written evidence from her stating this! At that moment they took responsibility for the damage and to me sounded like they would deal with the claim simple and quickly! I have no receipts because all my clothes fitted etcnsnd didn't think for one minute oh ill keep the receipts just in case and airline run my case over and damage all of my clothes? WHAT DO I DO NOW? I'm so confused and distressed!! Thanks. Please reply.

Hello, im sorry 4 that, if you could not reach an
agent at the airport, and because of that
you did not receive the PIR report. you will
need to be helped by and submit a claim
within 7 days (as specified in the Montreal
Convention) from the date of the baggage
receipt. This can be done in three ways:
09:00 and 17:00 (UK time)
•by going to and
clicking on the red button 'Problems
Completing Your Claim? Send A Message To
damagedluggage.com'
•by sending an e-mail directly I am sure you will be able to lodge a claim
and receive necessary reports and PIR as
soon
